Qualifications and experience required:

  • Appropriate level of secondary qualification.
  • Plant Operator’s Certificate.
  • A valid Code EB driver’s licence.
  • Process Controller.
  • Experience as per DWS classification for Class V.

  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Be highly safety conscious.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • be physically fit and able-bodied due to the physical attributes required for the performance of tasks associated with specific key performance areas in this post;

  • work outside normal working hours during emergencies and planned overtime.

Job purpose:

Coordinating tasks and activities associated with operating and controlling the sludge heat treatment process, sludge dewatering and compost production, steam generating through the application of specific operating procedures controlling plant performance, conducting of tests and executing approved corrective measures to address deviations and attending to the operating sections of the plant to ensure process outcomes complies with standards and prescribed specifications and optimum functionality is maintained.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Registration as a Professional Valuer with the South African Council for the Property Valuers Profession (SACPVP).
  • Six to seven years’ substantial experience as a Valuer and relevant Accounting Administration.
  • A valid Code B driver’s licence.

Key attributes and competencies:

  • Extensive knowledge of the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA), Municipal Systems Act, relevant Financial Management Policies of Council, and other related legislation, circulars, and instructions issued by National Treasury relating to area of responsibility.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • B.Com. degree or equivalent (Degree in Economics, Financial Management, Cost and Management Accounting).
  • Five to seven years’ substantial experience in Financial Accounting at an Operational Management Level.
  • Computer literacy in Office applications.
  • A valid Code B driver’s licence.

Key attributes and competencies:

  • The incumbent must have extensive knowledge of the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA), Municipal Systems Act, relevant Financial Management Policies of Council and procedures.
  • Knowledge of municipal accounting and budgeting process.
  • The incumbent must have the ability to identify and define the short-term objectives and priorities of the section encapsulating asset and insurance control functionalities.
  • Incumbent will be responsible to control the key performance indicators and outcomes of personnel within the Risk and Asset Management Division.
  • Incumbent will be responsible for managing Council’s self insurance in terms of Self Insurance Fund Rules as well as the Asset Register in terms of policies.

Identifying and defining current as well as emerging business, financial and operational risks, identifying appropriate and cost effective methods of managing these risks within the organisation, and managing the processing, payment and administration of occupational injuries and disease claims in terms of the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Must have Grade 10.
  • One-year relevant supervisory experience.
  • Physically fit and able-bodied.

  • Two years’ relevant experience is a preference.
