SUPERVISOR: INDOOR SPORT CENTRE

TASK
Grade 8 (R308 664 – R429 108 per annum)

Qualifications and experience required:
- An appropriate level of secondary education.
- A valid Code EB driver’s licence.
- Twelve to eighteen months’ relevant experience.
Key attributes and competencies:
- Physically fit and able-bodied.
- Communication and payment reconciliation skills.
- Filing and booking coordination.
- Supervision and coordination skills.
- Administrative skills.
The physical attributes associated with this post necessitates that the incumbent is physically fit and able-bodied to perform the relevant functions, and as such, shortlisted candidates will be required to submit themselves to the Municipal Medical Doctor to be medically examined as part of the selection process.
Job purpose:
Supervising, coordinating and controlling the set-up, work in progress and completion of specialised tasks/activities associated with the Indoor Sports Centres, including monitoring and correcting the productivity and performance outputs of support personnel and attending to routine/general administrative recording requirements contributing to the accomplishment of departmental objectives.
As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, medical examination, security vetting and psychometric assessment.

Qualifications and experience required:
- Basic computer literacy.
- Grade twelve.
- Twelve months’ experiential knowledge of public libraries.
- Registered member of LIASA.
Key attributes and competencies:
- Must have basic understanding, knowledge and application of aspects, principles, practices and procedures within the library and information services discipline.
- Must be able to accurately and carefully follow established processes (e.g. shelving and mending of library books).
- Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
- Supervisory and report-writing skills.
Job purpose:
Coordinating and performing specific activities associated with the provision of support by attending to routine enquiries from users and the general public, executing control procedures with respect to lending/returns and shelving, repairing damaged or defaced books and, removing/preparing obsolete stock for return in order to ensure the laid down instructions and procedures are complied with contributing to the accomplishment of service delivery objectives.
