When the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and the Municipal Budget work hand in hand, it leads to faster, more effective service delivery right in your community.

At Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, we know that aligning the IDP and Budget is the key to delivering real change in your communities.

Here’s how you stand to benefit:

Better roads, water, and sanitation
More clinics, better infrastructure, safer communities
Money spent where communities have identified needs with full transparency

When residents participate and the IDP and Budget are aligned this is the result:
1.Your identified ward priorities are funded
2.Visible progress happens in your ward
3.Every cent works harder for you

This is your city. Your voice shapes your future. Let’s build an efficient and working people’s budget together.

Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality celebrates Mandela Month under the theme, "it’s still in our hands to combat poverty and inequality.”

"I host free monthly events for women to challenge a narrative that's been accepted for far too long. The world tells us women can't gather without comparison, competition, or conflict. That nothing in life is free. That healing, sisterhood, and growth must come with a cost. But Sisterhood in Prayer says otherwise. Every month, we create a space where women come as they are. No price. No pressure. Just real women, real stories, and the presence of a real God. We laugh. We cry. We pray.
We grow. We carry each other sometimes in silence, sometimes with shouts of praise. And every time, we leave lighter and stronger,” states Minette Jacobs.

Following the press briefing where Executive Mayor Cllr Babalwa Lobishe announced the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s 2025/26 budget, the municipality is now unpacking what is known as the People’s Budget.

What is a ward-based budget?
A ward-based budget is a community-focused approach where each municipal ward receives a dedicated portion of the overall budget to address its specific needs and priorities.

Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality celebrates Youth Month under the theme, "Skills for the Changing World - Empowering Youth for Meaningful Economic Participation.”

In the words of Demi Du Preez, "You are here for such a time as this. Your voice carries power. Your dreams are valid.
Don't let anyone rush your journey.
Grow at your own pace. Learn from your mistakes. And never be ashamed of starting over that's where some of the greatest growth begins.”
